Built in the eighteenth century by a Sorrento patrician family and later home to Baron Achille Pomarici Santomasi, the palace was due to be demolished before a restoration intervention brought back neoclassical frescoes, hand-painted paper ceilings, and a tuff spiral staircase. Today it houses the Museobottega della Tarsialignea. The correspondence between the container and its contents, an eighteenth-century Sorrento palace that hosts the most important collection of Sorrento wood inlay, makes it a unique document of the history, architecture, and material culture of Sorrento.
